Social Security Condonation Law of 2009 or Republic Act 9903 was signed by President Gloria Macapagal.
The new law will allow employers to remit employees’ delinquent payments for contributions without paying penalties.
It was proposed following the sss report that says unremitted contributions reached 109 billion while penalties reached 280 billion and during the time when employers where not able to remit contributions due to the harsh impact of the global financial crisis.
