Maria Venus Raj loses Binibining Pilipinas Universe crown

Maria Venus Raj was stripped of her Binibining Pilipinas-Universe title and disqualified from this year’s Miss Universe pageant after officials discovered irregularities in her birth certificate.

It was found out that she was born in Qatar from unwed Filipina mother and Indian Father which contradicts to what was stated in her birth certificate claiming she was born in the Philippines. (source)

She will be replaced by Helen Nicolette Mercado Henson, a 21-year old Pampanguena, as Philippines’ representative for the 59th Miss Universe pageant on August. (source)
