439th Araw ng Maynila declared as non-working holiday

On June 24, 2010.. Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, will be celebrating is 439th anniversary.

Manila is one of the 17 cities that make-up the Metropolitan Area. Two prominent figures lead the country’s capital. Mayor Alfredo “Fred” S. Lim was re-elected as the city’s mayor as well as vice-mayor Isko Moreno. They will both lead the country’s oldest city into a very prosperous future.

As part of the celebration, it was declared that Manila Day on the 24th of June 2010 will be a special non-working holiday through Proclamation no. 1799.

The declaration covers Manila districts including Binondo, Ermita, Intramuros, Malate, Paco, Pandacan, Port Area, Quiapo, Sampaloc, San Andres, San Miguel, San Nicolas, Santa Ana, Santa Cruz, Santa Mesa and Tondo.
