The Miss Universe beauty pageant is over. Fortunately, our very own Maria Venus Raj bagged the 4th runner-up in the competition. It is already a big achievement over the decade. But there is something bigger than that.
Back several decades ago, Miss Gloria Diaz made our country proud after bringing home the Miss Universe crown for the first time. That was year 1969 and she was just 18 years old that time. He outsmarted the other candidates by answering well on the question: how to welcome the first men who landed in the moon – Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins.
On September 2010, she was declared as “persona non grata” by the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines-Cebu.
