FIFA World Cup Group A Match Highlights
Group A is composed of host nation South Africa, France, Uruguay, and Mexico. Unfortunately, the group’s favorite France under coach Raymond Domenech had under-performed compared to their 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany where the national team was a runner-up.
Mexico’s Rafael Marquez scored to cancel the goal made by Man of the Match and South African midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala. The atmosphere during the game was brilliant as the host nation played their first match against Mexico. Anyway, my bet is Mexico since Arsenal’s Carlos Vela is on the team. Viva Mexico!!!
Uruguay’s Nicolas Lodeiro received the first Red Card of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The team’s match against France also ended in a draw while Uruguay’s Diego Forlan bagged the Man of the Match.
Uruguay Forward and Man of the Match Diego Forlan silenced the crowd after scoring a double against the host nation South Africa. Alberto Pereira added a late goal in the 95th minute to make it 3-0 for Uruguay and giving them chance in the World Cup Last 16. The match silenced the vuvuzuelas and the stadium was clear before the game ended.
Mexican substitutes fired up their national team as Javier Hernandez and Cuauhtemoc Blanco claimed a goal each to defeat the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany 1st Runner Up: French National Team.
Uruguay beat Mexico through a goal from Forward and Man of the Match Luis Suarez. Both national teams will advance to the last 16 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
Bafana Bafana defeated the underperforming Les Bleus. Both eliminated in the Group Stage. France was in a first half distraught as the South African host nation tried to stay in the Last 16 with goals from Bongani Khumalo and Man of the Match Katlego Mphela. In the second half, France came back with a goal from Florent Malouda but it wasn’t enough.
